A fast and relentless wrestler, Dominique Parrish stunned the world as they saw her technical brilliance dominate top prospects as she claimed gold during the 2022 World Championships.

Career Achievements
Emerging triumphantly even during her high school career, Dominique Parrish quickly established her wrestling capabilities as she earned both titles of a two time California state champion as well as gaining multiple USA Wrestling Junior national titles in freestyle and folkstyle. Guided by the mentorship and training under her father, Parrish then quickly advanced into her collegiate career, garnering numerous awards such as becoming a two-time WCWA national champion during 2018 and 2019, a four-time WCWA All-American, a 2019 WCWA Wrestler of the Year, and a recipient of the 2019 Patricia Miranda Medal- an award commending and recognizing the nation’s outstanding collegiate women’s wrestler. However, Parrish aspired onwards, as she was ultimately selected in becoming a member of the U.S. World Team with the recognition of becoming a two-time Final X Champion, leading her to the path to trailblaze on an international stage. While Parrish did qualify and compete amongst the most decorated athletes during the 2024 Summer Olympics, her career high was determined during the 2022 World Wrestling Championships- where she brought home gold in Belgrade, Serbia, after defeating standout wrestlers without being significantly placed or ranked during the tournament.
Her Story
Born in November 5, 1996, Parrish was early-on raised in Scotts Valley, California, where her wrestling roots had originally taken influence and shape. Her father, Mike Parrish, had been an experienced collegiate wrestler, as his background and athletic insights provided the strong foundation and interest within Parrish as she first embarked her path towards the sport. Showing a strong willingness to explore, Parrish’s first contact with wrestling took place during her early middle school years, as she was strongly encouraged by friends and family to try in the sixth grade. Eventually, as her passion grew in parallel alongside her educational career, Parrish was immediately immersed within the world of wrestling; she went on to push out significant achievements with the proper instruction and training instilled by her father, who was also her high school’s wrestling team coach. Practicing and maintaining a disciplined approach, Parrish garnered state championship titles in 2014 and 2015 for Scotts Valley High School, before progressing into her collegiate endeavors.

Her Impact
Exemplified by her proactive, determined, and resilient mindset coming into this sport, Parrish’s story in committing to this profession has always been an opportunity that she has recognized as an area in which she was offered and met with expeditious support and encouragement from the ones closest to her. Others, she reflects, and especially young girls, have not had quite the same experiences, as many felt excluded or barred from even participating as a member on male-dominated team. Her continuance to raise awareness and efforts to support girls in their interests in wrestling has been of great inspiration for many, as well as her hard work and drive in her dedication to athletics provide an excellent example for young athletes around the world.
