With one of the nation’s best defensive tactics in wrestling, Sarah Hildebrandt’s accomplishments and accolades is one but of no wonder. Her title of holding and being one of the most awarded and recognized female wrestlers comes from her tremendously successful journey and the numerous career achievements she has collected along the way. Before embarking on an international pathway, Hildebrandt was named one of nation’s best collegiate wrestlers, as she became a two-time WCWA champion in both 2015 and 2014, and four time WCWA finalist at her time in King University. Hildebrandt then amassed several accolades as she demonstrated incredible on-the-mat awareness and an unmatched offensive technique, giving her the title of a two-time U.S. Open and four-time Final X champion- immediately securing her position in the U.S. World Team. Shortly after, Hildebrandt then went on to dominate in several Summer Olympic Games, bringing home silver in 2018 and 2021, as well as bronze in 2022 and 2023. However, Hildebrandt further secured her name as one of the top American wrestlers on the Olympic level, winning Bronze during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and most of all- taking gold in the women’s freestyle event during the 2024 Olympic games in Paris. She also exemplified her mastery of the sport by becoming the Pan American Games Champion in 2019, as well as winning gold seven times in the Pan American Championships.

Her Story
Born in September 23, 1993, Hildebrandt spent her early childhood in the populated town of Granger, Indiana, where she lived in a very athletic-driven household with her three siblings and parents, Nancy and Chris. She recalls the early influence her parents had distilled within their household at an incredibly young age, as every day was filled to the brim of sports and physically demanding activities. Wrestling, in particular, was one that was a Hildebrandt household special- with her family offering their utmost support when she decided to embark on what has evolved as her professional career. From her fondest memories of watching powerful women wrestlers on screen, her role models like Michelle Kwan and Clarissa Chun gave Hildebrandt the encouragement and empowerment of knowing the possibility of pursuing a professional career in sports. By the time she was participating as a part of the men’s wrestling team in her town, the community had not only embraced, but also welcomed the opportunity of diversity in allowing Hildebrandt in gaining the courage to have the freedom in chasing what was hers.
